Mp3s are a fine tool for up & coming bands to reach a greater audience. As
far as established artists not getting paid, that's a crime but not the
mediums fault. That's been happening for years (via aforementioned mixtapes,
bootlegs, etc.) To me, that's not an issue. What is an issue is artists (new
or old) not receiving due royalties from record companies.

True.The alternatives have always be there. Whatever it is. We're currently
oversaturated with  the "celebrity mind". But there's plenty lurking under
the surface. The media blitz skewers our perceptions. As the corporate
mergers continue so will the need for independent voices.
