<< My last 'employer' worked on worked out of his house, so we were trapped
in
the home for about a year. It couldn't have been any more wonderful! His
home was a Frank-Lloyd/Geary 66' home in Silverlake, CA. The home is made
entirely of concrete, brick, glass and steel. >>
Frank Lloyd Gehry's trademark is the idea of using whatever materials are
available, uncommonly used, and in most cases socially unacceptable (the
concrete, steele, etc. that you mentioned) in his architecture. He wanted to
break the idea that expensive materials had to be used to create beautiful
and functional architecture.
Not a mod designer though, even though it is from 1966 : ). His work is of
more of an organic style, as most of his work in the past has been reaction
to the environment. This is obvious of many of his buildings in LA,
especially his home in Santa Monica.

Summer.
