Club SOLID this Saturday Feb.5 at 9:30pm...at Fais Do-Do... possibly the
last Saturday of this nearly two year old So.Cal. mod-60's-soul club...as we
are moved to the 3rd Friday in March and may remain in that slot.
Anyways, hope those in to garage 60's can make it out...possibly a cool
fill-in band as Odd Numbers cancelled...
a new band from South Bay/Long Beach area...a Garage/Power Trio who are
doing a garage rock 60's vibe.....now thats what ive been told...there band
name is something like "Im Stabbing At You" or "Im Going To Stab You" ...
ok, with this name and the sound their likened to I see NO CONNECTION so if
they are righton those who see them lets start suggesting band name
changes...ive got two so far "The Stab" or "Knives Edge" ... well maybe
those suck too.
In a partnership called SOLID SOUL FRIDAYS, we present...
...on the first Friday in March and continuing on first Fridays,
the debut of LOCOMOTIVE!!! It is to be a HARD SOUL club featuring
"mod 60's r&b and 60's SOUL" with a dj from Golden State Soul Society
(possibly Nancy "SOULTASTIC" herself) and recent transplant to So.Cal., Gene
Balk who is a super great dj and cool all-around cat, from the EAST COAST.
Plus, scooter Chris Griiffith and his hard-soul collection and Patrick for a
variety of mod r&b and soul classics. The club will be at RUDOLPHO's which
is pretty central for all So.Cal. people...near East Hollywood, off the 101
fwy at Silverlake going a couple miles east...or from the 5 fwy it is just
10 minutes from downtown and near the Glendale/Pasadena areas...classy,
classy venue and A sharp-HARD dress code is going to be in place...no jeans,
no boots...strictly dress-stylin' trousers and DANCING soles on those
feet...be ready to climb on board as the LOCOMOTIVE gets a-rollin !!!
