Has anyone seen the February 2000 ish of MOJO? Not a mag I usually peruse but a co-worker passed it on to me to read the articles on LAS VEGAS GRIND and another feature on the MONKS and CAVESTOMP! Might not be a big deal to some of you but I was surprised to see such extensive coverage on such American events. The Monks story was shallow, but interesting nevertheless, and includes a rather frightening photo of them from Cavestomp. The LVG article was as I expected; Mojo travels to the States to see the freaks, the girls, and Dolemite. The issue also features a "Top 100 underrated/underappreciated/forgotten bands/artists" thingy that held a few surprises as well - both in what they included (Joe Meek, Billy Childish, The Action, a few soul singers) and what they DIDN'T (Prisoners? 60's girl pop singers? Georgie Fame? The Birds?) I usually liken MOJO to ROLLING STONE in terms of audience and content but this one was loads of fun reading! Worth a look!
