No crews in Boston? How about American Hammer Skins? How about the dozens of
kids sporting NF crosses to punk shows? Yeah -- skinhead in Boston has gone
down the tubes. As far as outright racial hatred goes, it's a hard question
to answer. Boston's skins in general are ultra-nationalist, and are pretty
much all into RAC, which I fucking hate. Mike McCarthy -- everyone knows
Mike McCarthy. As far as his politics go, I don't know, nor do I care. All I
know is that the entire city is fucked. Our ska bands are by and large
ridiculous, with the exception of bands like the Allstonians, Pressure
Cooker, and the like, and most of those shows are avoided by Boston
Skinheads. In Boston, Skinhead now means shaving your head, hanging out in
the same dirty places night after night, NOT having a job, and blindly
worshipping your country while still ignoring all of its' laws. To me, being
skinhead was about working-class pride, and being sure to look the part as
well as to be it. Not to say that the clothes make the man, but being filthy
doesn't get you any brownie points in my book. That's why I fucking hate
hippies. They're dirty. Due to my allegiance to Traditional Skinhead values
and culture, I left the scene. Not that I was welcome in it anyways. My
politics and theirs don't mix. Mod-Skin is my way of describing myself. Not
a skinhead because I no longer exist in that scene (In my opinion, a crew
should be a requirement...) and not entirely mod, because I don't feel
entirely deserving of that title. Anything else?
Oh I forgot to ask... are there crews in Boston now? that's news to me,
besides which all the skins I knew in Boston in my day were pretty far from
tolerant of right-wing politics. At least one (Mike McCarthy, do you know
him?) still claimed SHARP. Were you hanging out with the RI boys or what?
