I tend to think if it were Brian's decision, we would not only be on a better server than Topica, but the loads of meaningless shit that the list has been buried under in the past few weeks (and especially last few days) wouldn't be tolerated either. Give him a little credit. Read the last post he wrote today, and realize he has zero control over the list and is therefore just as fed up as many of us are.
