Any of you been to Nordstrom lately? In store meeting earlier this month the boys up in corporate have decided to change the pace of things for the upcoming Spring look of the store. Plans are to create a more diverse shopping experience between the departments by distinctly separating the more conservative ones: Town Square, Gallery, Sportswear etc. from the more liberal ones: Savvy, Point of View, Individualist etc. With orange as the Feb./Spring color, it will be displayed throughout the store but seriously focused on the new floor. Meaning, that in a 3 level store floor 1 would have Cosmetics, Shoes, Men's Suits, etc. Floor 3 would have the more timeless pieces and a *new* all jeans department and Floor 2 would be the Acid flashback that the company is trying to achieve. Doing so would include painting the escalator wells, and all columns of the floor orange as well a giving the floor a new approach, with different music in each department to inhance originality and hopefully to drown out the blasted piano players that grace the store with their presence! Just glancing at the pictures of the plan just reminds me of selected 60s fashion articles out of Nova. We'll see how this pans out. Should be interesting....
