small note and plea for sanity:
This list has been on occasion a useful and sharp place. But I can't handle
seven digests a day w/ 90% of posts from the same dozen individuals. Before
it all goes (even more) pear-shaped, I'd like to propose one small thought
to other listers, gleaned from my meager experience:
consider posting JUST once per day.
Resist the over-and-over temptation. There's something like 600 people on
the list. Traffic will not be wanting.
If you post just once a day, you have time to check your facts, your
grammar, -- and that useful time needed to compose your most magisterial
rebuke, should it be called for. In short, to paraphrase
the GW Bush christian moral guide, "What would Jesus Do?"
I say, think this: "What would Mr.Steed do?"
