And we have a couple of visitors in town...

Scott Smith <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, a San Francisco scooterist, will be in
town through this weekend.

Christophe Villa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes:
Just thought that I'd inquire about things to do in the D.C. area.,
especially if there's something that deserve my special attention. i.e.
record shops, clothiers, French eateries. I've never been there before. So
I'm up for just about anything that will keep me away from gun point while
visiting. I'll be in town from Monday 27 March to Friday for a conference
and can stay throughout the weekend if there's something super duper cool to
do! :) Many thanks, Christophe from cold and rainy Seattle!

Drop them a line if you can show them some D.C. hospitality, I know both of
them and can vouch that they're good eggs.

I've seen some Spring weather in the past couple of weeks, and I've enjoyed
quite a few commutes to work on my Vespa (now if only the highway department
will just fix that second lane from the right on I-95 north). If you live in
D.C. or Virginia come to the Saints S.C. meeting on Sunday afternoon (3-19)
at Misha's Coffee House in Old Town Alexandria. There's no need to bring
your scooter, though come Tuesday it's officially spring, and that means
it's time to ride. The meeting starts at 5:30pm. Misha's is at the
intersection of U.S. 1 (100 N. Patrick Street) and Route 7 (King Street) in
Old Towne Alexandria. That's five blocks from the King Street (Yellow) metro
and six blocks off I-95/495 (Beltway).

Or if you need another week to get your scooter together end the winter
blahs and come out to Annapolis for the first big ride of 2000. The Funky
Spunk Monkeys SC will be sponsoring a ride that goes from the Annapolis City
Docks (Main Street at Green Street), and leads up to a tasty meal in Old
Town Ellicott City. Meet at 10am, grab breakfast, and we will ride at 11am.

For more information contact Tom Karppi at <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. In case of
inclement weather call Tom at 410-990-9645 to ascertain any change in plans.

For those of you in and around the city of Baltimore the Bombers S.C. meets
Wednesday evening (4-5) at Friends in Fells Point Baltimore. The meeting
starts at 8pm. Friends is at 1624 Aliceanna at the intersection of Broadway,
that's three blocks from the waterfront and a mile east of the Inner Harbor.

Ian Whalley writes: Hi Folks-Once again, the Tundra Schmucks are presenting
the Niagara Falls rally, and of course, it'll be at the same amazing site
(Welland County Motorcycle Club) on May 19th-21st 2000. More details will
follow.

Here's the deal right now: If your club is putting on a rally or event after
May 21st, and you would like to have a flyer included in the goody bag,
please email me privately at <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to arrange for mailing of the
flyer, as well as sufficient funds to make about 400-500 photocopies. The
deadline for receiving your flyer will be April 15th, 2000 to give us enough
time to stuff the bags.

Looking forward to another awesome season...

And Bob Swope wishes to announce the formation of a scooter club in the
Staunton/Lexington area of Virginia: We've been hanging out here in the
Shenandoah Valley, working on our scooters and doing some short rides. Amy
and I call ourselves the "Hard Knocks Scooter Club." That's a facetious term
we use for ourselves because because we know of NO ONE else in the whole
valley into two-stroke scooters so we say that we learn our scootering in
the school of hard knocks. It's a kind of sarcastic reference to these good
ol' boys around here who scoff at formal education and proudly exclaim that
they went to the "school of hard knocks." If you'd like to know more then
email Bob at <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
