Andrew,
Don't be so quick to judge. I'm sure your experience with skinheads is much
different from mine. You sound like your somewhere in Britain while I am
here in California. When I was in England, the skinheads I met seemed to
come from a different world than the ones out here. It is like trying to be
a Mod in Ca. as opposed to England, just a different experience.
The Skinhead crews I have known and Hung around in Sacramento have always
taken their lifestyles very seriously. Whether they consider themselves
Sharp or Trad, they stick together very tight because of the large Nazi and
Bonehead population in the Suburbs of Sac.
I have known some who had a strictly anti WP music stance, and others whose
favorite bands were Skrewdriver and the like. If you listen to much new Oi,
maybe you've heard Pressure Point from out here. A truly awesome antiracist
skinhead band. When I told there lead singer he sounded a lot like Ian
Stuart, he took it as a very high compliment.
I guess it's just a matter of agreeing to disagree.
I have never actually met a bonehead who owned a Skrewdriver album anyway.
They have always been so hard to get until recently. Most Nazis out here
listen to bad metal.
Anyway, no reason to call anyone a "fuckwit". Just a matter of a difference
of opinion.
Peace out
-Guardo
