Matt - there's nothing to figure out! It's all quite simple.

You have quite simply misunderstood me Matt. Maybe MY fault.... but what
I meant was -

I don't know anything about any of the DJs in the line-up - so I
couldn't be particularly impressed. It didn't make me think 'great I
must go to the mousetrap' ie. I wasn't 'struck' by it.

Get it? I was just acknowledging my ignorance of the soul scene and the
various DJs..... I've said lots of times I'm getting more into some soul
- but am still ignorant of the scene etc.
I mean - I'm no 'soulie', 'record collector', or even a 'soul mod'

As I've said - you MISUNDERSTOOD me!!! I've no idea whether I'll enjoy
it or not - I never know till I hear it......
but after all this promo I am convinced I probably WILL!!!! Thanks for
the info Matt. I hope I'll make it down there (though I'm overdue a
haircut)

No we didn't!!!!
I've said there's loads of hippies down there - but also that I really
dig British RnB and freakbeat (even a little garage)
Plus the downstairs usually has a better atmosphere - upstairs sometimes
really gets on my nerves.... loads of skinheads and northern soulies...
Whenever I'm taunted/laughed at/called a queer it's by that lot....
downstairs is usually friendlier. (Less pretentious too - some of those
soul dancers really like showing off whereas the other crowd can be
better dancers but don't get all flashy and snobby)

> I can never figure you out. And that annoys me.
> Matt.....

Why?!
Who cares?!! You haven't even MET me - how can you expect to have me
'figured out' by my occasional musings on a mailing list? How do you
know all this isn't just a fiction? After all - I enjoy art and writing
and have a great imagination (so I'm told)

Paul

PS. A warning.... I can sometimes be just as mysterious in person!
