Unfortunately, there isn't much of a scene here (one reason we're throwing
an allnighter). There are some things of interest though, depending on your
tastes.

Tuesday, 16th - The Makers (garage/soul) play Jailhouse Rock Cafe (30
Mount-Royal). Cafe Chaos (on St-Denis) plays good punk (Stooges, MC5,
Buzzcocks etc.)
Wednesday, 17th - Ska night every Wednesday at Bar St-Laurent
Thursday, 18th - Action '67: DJ Mimi plays French ye-ye and freakbeat at the
Lounge-A-Go-Go (on St-Laurent)
Friday, 19th - Britpop/new wave night at Cybertek Club (St-Laurent). This
has been good recently.
Saturday, 20th - Every couple of weeks they do a night called "Frenchy Jazzy
Swing" at the Cabaret (also on St-Laurent): French 60s pop (Gainsbourg,
Dutronc etc.). This night is very popular and worth checking out, especially
if you are not from Quebec. Not sure if it is on this week though.
Sunday, 21st - 007 James Bond party at Club 737. I have no idea what this
is. The club is a Montreal "thing to see" though. It is right on top of
the city's highest skyscraper with a beautiful terrace. I think it will be
Martinis and lounge music.

There are some good clothes and record stores on St-Denis street. Start on
Prince-Arthur and walk up to Mount-Royal. Definitely check out 'Beatnick,'
'Primitive,' 'Le Pick-Up' and 'Sonik' if you are into 60s vinyl. Stomp
records on Rachel Street sells ska and some Fred Perry, Ben Sherman etc.
