That's right Bek and it's still the best show on TV
bar none. So what does that say about the rest of the
current crop of crap?

Subject: I am a ticket
As usual I'll probably get beaten, flogged, flattened,
tarred, feathered and
hanged for this heinous crime, but I'm going to
dissent from the ranks and
reveal the awful truth, (as un-Bespokey as it may be):
I hate the Simpsons. I've found it to be mild,
predictable, unfunny, and
plain boring for years. I've given it chance after
1/2 hour chance, have
been advised on all the "best" episodes from fans,
watched it with friends
while drunk, all to no avail. It just doesn't make me
laugh. It's the same
crap every episode: Bart's a troublemaking smartass,
Lisa's the voice of
reason, Marge growls, Homer acts stupid and says d'oh,
the guy at the bar
belches, the Quickie Mart guy babbles nonsencically in
accent, etc. etc.,
all laced heavily with smarmy satirical social
commentary and a lot of tired
irony. The Krusty Mod thing is clever, sure, but
still not enough to make
me like that fucking show. Matt Groening should have
hung it up in '96 at
least. Sour-Puss Bek :o)
