I am with Mokie G on this one (although I didn't hear the Action's
version until a bit later than '82 and I believe I was sitting down at
the time). And that with the Temps being one of my fave Motown acts. I
actually dig the Alan Bown Set's version of "It's Growing" in a similar
manner. I think each version is different enough and carries enough of
it's own weight to be dug on it's own terms.
And I would certainly take Reggie King or Jess Roden over Steve Marriott
any day!
