BUT... at least The Action actually PLAY on their own records! And even
wrote a good few.
The Monkees had TV studio money behind them, Boyce+Hart writing songs and
The Turtles playing them.
In their favour tho- Porpoise Song was the first commercial record to have a
moog on it!
