What you should look for are the 2 (and soon to be 3) Blow Up Exclusive
Blend compilations. We actually got ours in Brum, though it's always hard to
know which part of the shops to look in! (Virgin, Tower, HMV...)
I would recommend Swordfish, in Temple Street, off New Street. The chap who
owns it is an old hippy and he'll probably order it for you. it's the only
shop in Brum, city centre at least, where i've seen the English Freakbeat
albums stocked, as well Detour releases etc. it's a good shop - on the
ceiling he's got record sleeves, some of which are very old Yardbirds ones
and that kind of thing. (also of interest to those of you coming to Brum for
the weekender in October!)
or i could just do you a tape...!
(and we're talkin about the 'real' Birmingham here, UK! 'Bjorn's inger ham'
- the town of Bjorn's people, as it was originally called, over 1,000 years
ago. Ha!)
