Mod is about Existentialism and R&B. (Yes I *am* quoting Steve Sparks
from Jonathon Green's 'Days in the life')

'Mods', by the time Marc Feld appeared in Town, seemed to have forgotten
this. It is my opinion that the vast majority of mods after this time
had no idea of what 'true mod' meant. They were 'post-commercialized
mods'. They were into the superficial elements of the lifestyle - but
failed to grasp the philosophy that lay at its heart.

Equally I believe that today, as evidenced by this list, the vast
majority of so-called mods really have no idea what the whole thing is
really all about.

That's all I have to say on the matter.

Paul

PS. I still believe London to be, not only the 'spiritual' home of mod,
but also, most likely, the environment most conductive to the lifestyle.
