Sound, who bill themselves as "Pure Mod Energy" are a South Lakes, England based band
with mod influences worth checking out. Much of their set is Who / Jam / Weller based
and also contains mod classics such as The Small Faces' "Itchycoo Park" and "All Or
Nothing". But they are also a mod band for the new millenium including covers from
bands sharing the same influences. Stereophonics, Ocean Colour Scene, Oasis?, Dodgy,
Cast to name but a few.
Sound original material is also well worth a listen and following their succesful
comeback tour of this spring, the band are busy writing and recording for a
forthcoming independent release. More information on gig dates and web details will
follow soon but you can see them in the flesh at the George and Dragon, Kendal,
Cumbria on August 3rd.
