hello samantha,
ok, first off I need to know your age, if you don't mind. it would be
pointless to tell you about clubs if you can't get in. oh, and also, what
area do you live in? i.e. capital hill, CD, ballard, U-District. there
aren't very many mod-boys in seattle. actually the last real mod boy that I
knew of moved to korea in october. the rest moved away last year to SF, and
boston. but you might get lucky with the new college boys. however, if
you're into the indie rockers, they are plentiful. kinda like jack in the
box. they have a tendancy to cross-over on party nights and become
modish/brit-poppers on party/show nights. they usually try to do this to
get the chicks however, they are really not into the scene. muchless know
what a lambretta is. lets see. its saturday night for you. if you get
this in time, and you're 21. goto the Baltic room on pine, cap hill. best
time to go; after 11pm. its "mods night out" but don't let the kids
runnning the show fool you. they are indeed very nice, but the music tends
to be the same every time and not very interesting. I spun for them a few
times as a favor. arg! very frustrating situation. OH wait, matt the main
dj IS very good. its just the organizers whom what to be in the lime light
who can't spin nor know anything about "mod" music. somtimes it sound like
they play the austin powers sountrack too much.
kewl record shopping:
fall-out records cap hill on olive st.

sonic boom fremont
underground vintage mall freemont

hope this helps :)

Hey there,
I just joined this list and am fairly new to the whole mod scene. It's
great... like discovering punk rock all over again, except more suited to
adulthood.
In any case, I've been to a few events at local clubs, but Seattle is a rawk
kind of town and the mod turnout's a bit low. I heard that Vancouver, BC is
more happening, but I don't know the clubs or nights to go. Can anyone
familiar with the area advise what's worth checking out? It'd be nice to
meet some sleek mod boys.
Thanks,
Samantha
