Subject: New soul night this thursday in L.A.
Hello,
Just wanted to let all SoCal soul enthusiasts know that this
thursday, Oct. 17th is the first installment of SHAKE!, a monthly soul
club at the Shortstop in Echo Park. DJ Steph.B (Upngroove - France /
Club Solid - L.A.) and DJ Serge (Ready,Steady,Go - Detroit / Club Lovely
- S.F.) will be mixing up a groovin' concoction of Northern Soul, Rare
Groove, Latin Boogaloo, Rock-Steady, Hammond Groove, Raw Funk and topped
off with a bit of 60s' Beat / Garage & French Pop. L.A. has seen it's
share of soul nights come and go, most of them failing do to social
politics and the tension that it creates between promoters, DJ's and
club-goers. We're hopeful that this will not be the case at SHAKE!
Everyone is welcome. We'd like to create a positive night of great
music and dancing in a comfortable environment. There is no cover
charge and it is 21 and over. There's not a better way to get a head
start on the weekend, so head on out and support the music you love.
The Shortstop is located at 1455 W. Sunset Blvd. @ the corner of Sunset
and Sutherland, three blocks west of Echo Park Blvd.
Doors @ 9:00pm
