Earlier I reported trouble with an installation on Linux 2.0.34
on a machine with numerous virtual hosts (Apache 1.3.1). Since
that problem still persists I suspect that I have done something
wrong there. I have yet to find what is wrong on that machine.

The good news is ... I just finished an installation on a local
Linux box here running Linux 2.0.31 of mod_ssl for Apache 1.3.1.
The test (drum roll please) YES! I got the Netscape SSL Lock!
It's nice to see that secure connection LOCK on Netscape 4.05
Communicator! ;-) This is across a local LAN, but I'm sure it
would also lock across the real Internet. This is with the
stock "httpd.conf.default" moved into the "httpd.conf", and
one or two minor conf adjustments.

Now I've got to figure out what I did wrong on the REAL host
where it still doesn't work. I also will do another remote
Linux installation and see if I can get the same success.

Anyway THANKS Ralph for the Open/Free Software which gives
us an opportunity to have a choice! It also allows us to
test, and is another example of the excellent opportunities
that this type of software gives us to LEARN about these
things for real. We gain a better understanding and are
better admins because of it.

So now I'm a believer! Ralph is not just out here selling
"Snake Oil" ;-) ha ha ha. [Snake Oil Server Cert.]

Thanks also all of the Apache Team!
