I had this errormessage with Netscape 3.x and server-certifiacates
generated with 
default_bits = 2048
and the CA-certificate generated with 2048 bits too.

It's a problem of Netscape 3.x I think.
With 1024bit certificates (server and CA) the messsage was disappeared.

Netcsape 4.x has no problems with 2048bit-certificates.
