Because some people asked for this (one even here on this list) I should give
an official statement about the state of the mod_ssl 2.0 branch. Here it is:
Now that mod_ssl 2.1 is out (currently already as version 2.1.2) this
branch is now the current release/stable/default branch. All bugfixes and
further development is done _ONLY_ on this branch. So no more work will be
done on the mod_ssl 2.0 branch. In other words: consider the 2.0 branch as
dead now! Users are encouraged to upgrade to the latest 2.1 version.
Support is still given for the 2.0.x versions, of course. But don't expect
any bugfixes on this branch unless a really heavy bug occurs.
In short: The release version of mod_ssl is 2.1 now and from now on whenever I
talk about mod_ssl to you I mean this version.
Greetings,
Ralf S. Engelschall
