Actually, I've been seeing a similar problem and scanning the list
archives seems to come up with a bunch of different reasons for the setup
not working. I'm running with the --enable-rule=SSL_SDBM on RH6.0.
Some messages in the archive suggested that using the GET method for form
processing cleared up most of the problems. Other things I found in the
CHANGES file and other messages suggests this is at least now a known
problem. I am running Apache 1.3.6 + mod_ssl-2.3.11 + php-3.0.11 +
mod_auth_mysql...
My ssl_engine logs look like such:
[04/Aug/1999 13:17:26] [info] Connection to child 9 closed with unclean
shutdown (server www.blah.com:443)
There's tons of that. My server-error_log had some of this:
[Wed Aug 4 13:44:07 1999] [error] (11)Resource temporarily unavailable:
fork: Unable to fork new process
I don't know if they're related (cuz the times are off). The error I get
in netscape is something to the effect of "I/O Error" but it works with
explorer. Due to my setup, I can't bring my production server offline to
reproduce the error (sorry).
