Hi all, This is driving me mad. I hope there is someone who is kind enough to give me some clues. I compiled Apache 1.3.6, mod_ssl 2.3.11, OpenSSL 0.93a on a Solaris x86 2.6 box. But every time I tried to connect to HTTPS port, I got disconnected. The error entries in error_log and access_log is : [Tue Aug 10 13:15:48 1999] [error] [client 203.67.11.65] Invalid method in reque st <80>k^A^C^A and 203.67.11.65 - - [10/Aug/1999:13:15:48 +0800] "<80>k^A^C^A" 501 - respectively. I followed the debug procedure in FAQ to use openssl to connect, and got the following result : OpenSSL> s_client -connect chi.e-top.com.tw:443 -state -debug CONNECTED(00000004) SSL_connect:before/connect initialization write to 081632D0 [0816B280] (109 bytes => 109 (0x6D)) 0000 - 80 6b 01 03 01 00 42 00-00 00 20 00 00 16 00 00 .k....B... ..... 0010 - 13 00 00 0a 00 00 07 00-00 05 00 00 04 00 00 15 ................ 0020 - 00 00 12 00 00 09 07 00-c0 05 00 80 03 00 80 01 ................ 0030 - 00 80 08 00 80 06 00 40-00 00 14 00 00 11 00 00 .......@........ 0040 - 08 00 00 06 00 00 03 04-00 80 02 00 80 b6 16 6c ...............l 0050 - 45 76 33 79 8f ad 6d 14-31 05 49 80 61 db 92 ef Ev3y..m.1.I.a... 0060 - 90 71 ad 0e 61 3b 95 5a-e9 6e 4a e2 73 .q..a;.Z.nJ.s SSL_connect:SSLv2/v3 write client hello A read from 081632D0 [081707E0] (7 bytes => 7 (0x7)) 0000 - 3c 21 44 4f 43 54 59 <!DOCTY SSL_connect:error in SSLv2/v3 read server hello A 27045:error:140770FC:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:unknown protocol:s23_cl nt.c:450: OpenSSL> I had some experience with Apache/SSL+SSLeay one year ago, but this never had happened to me before. I suspect it's Solaris x86 2.6's fault. I had disabled the ASM code in OpenSSL and removed -O3 when comping OpenSSL. make test looked pretty normal to me (all passed). So I don't know what's going on there. I hope someone kind enough to tell me what I can do. I am going nuts. Thanks for your attention.
