Thanks for your reply, but I tried to compile mod_ssl with the
following configuration and had still the same error:

./configure --with-openssl=/usr/local/openssl
--with-apxs=/home/httpd/bin/apxs --enable-rule=SSL_SDBM; make
install

I still have the same error-message. Is maybe still something
wrong in mod_ssl or could it be that my dbm is broken? I use the
Caldera OpenDesktop 2.4 distribution. "man gdbm" tells me that I
have v1.8 of gdbm.

Any hint?
