Sure there are more differences between 0.9.4 and 0.9.5 then some ciphers
enabled/disabled. So 0.9.4 may or may not work. And IE has its own bugs so it may
or not work depending on mod_ssl version also. Too many choices. What I am trying
to say is that simple 1->0 change in source file (effectivly disabling EXP1024
chipers) makes 0.9.5 work with IE5.01 again... As that change is already in 0.9.4
that probably explains why 0.9.4 works *sometimes* and 0.9.5 doesn't work at all.
I don't claim 0.9.4 is better then 0.9.5. When I have linked mod_ssl against 0.9.4
and IE5.01 start working I was trying to find the criticall difference between
0.9.4 and 0.9.5 (the diff file is about 200K)... and that difference seems to be
1->0 change in ssl/tls1.h
