Yes,  usually you'd use a different 'domain' name for the SSL content (i.e.
http://www.teletubbies.com and "wwws.teletubbies.com" or
"secure.teletubbies.com") which helps keep things 'clear' when you're
switching back and forth between 'secure' and 'unsecure' modes.   You'll
have to specify the 'absolute' URL path anyway, to get browsers to switch
between modes (especially if you're mixing secure and unsecure content on
the same web page).

Such as:
<A HREF="https://secure.teletubbies.com/login.php";><IMG
SRC="http://www.teletubbies.com/images/tubby_logo.gif"; ALT="Tubby Login"
HEIGHT=50 WIDTH=120 ALIGN=RIGHT></A>

(actually, that's not a good example of what I was trying to illustrate...
But hopefully you get the picture...)
