Which version of RedHat are you using? If it is 7.0 or 7.1, you'll have
conflicts as openssl 0.9.6 is "built in". Also, the latest Apache is 1.3.20
and mod_ssl is 2.8.4. You can get these from the "Rawhide" site of RedHat
(eg
ftp://ftp.mirror.ac.uk/sites/ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/rawhide/i386/Re
dHat/RPMS/)

What happens when you try
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd start
?

Subject: Problem running Apach with SSL.

Hi,
I want to install apache with mod_ssl.
I installed redhat linux with without apache, openssl and mod_ssl.
I've downloaded apache-1.3.19-5.i386.rpm, openssl-0.9.6a-1.i386.rpm and
mod_ssl-2.8.3_1.3.19-1.i386.rpm.
And I've installed them in that particular order. Now I when I'm doing to
start the apache:
"httpd -D HAVE_SSL".
I get an error message that says:
Cannot load /etc/httpd/modules/libssl.so into server:
/etc/httpd/modules/libssl.so: undefined symbol: dbm_firstkey.

Why do I get this message?
What's wrong?

Can someone please help me!

Thanks

Gaylord
