Yeah, my production server is running this stuff on 6.2 just fine. Grr.

I hadn't even considered that. I've never tried installing the Apache RPM
and attempted to install DSOs after-the-fact. Also I prefer to have apache
in /usr/local/apache instead of /home/http or whatever the RPM puts it in.

Have you compiled in DSOs (like PHP) -- or upgraded DSOs like mod_ssl after
installing the RPM? I don't see why this *wouldn't* work. I just haven't
tried it. I suppose as long as apxs is installed as part of the RPM and
Apache was originally configured to allow DSOs it would work.

Yeah, I have. See the "segfault problem" and "segfault problem - from
scratch" threads for more info on my newest problems.
