well, that's a lot more than I needed. I think the key is somewhere in the
SSL_BASE=SYSTEM thing. I have openssl installed, this is redhat, but when I set SSL_BASE=SYSTEM, I still get the error: Error: Cannot find SSL binaries under /usr/local/ssl when I run configure in apache.
