Yes, the reports of my demise are quite premature.Ironically, today we had the first meeting of Perl Seminar NY's Phalanx Phoenix project (http://www.perlmonks.org/index.pl?node_id=586406), whose explicit purpose is to train new maintainers of CPAN modules.
And thereby reduce the number of Perl modules abandoned in the future! jimk
