html pod doesn't honor S

Is this a limitation or a unfixed bug?

I noticed the html version on cpan of my module looked poopy... it was
all broken funny and things that lined up on a terminal didn't (C<mea
culpa>).

But I also noticed non-breaking spaces ignored...?
