Yeah, but I'm a little hesitant to rely so strongly on /dev stuff, for cross-platform reasons. For instance, I think it's only recent versions of OS X that had a /dev filesystem at all, though I can't seem to find a reference saying so.
I looked at EU::MM and noticed that it too calls eof(STDIN), so does it have a similar problem?
