But only in bleadperl and 5.10.0, where the version object code is part of the core as well, meaning the embedded pure Perl version.pm code will never fire. It does means that that one file diverges between the CPAN release and the core release. And that means that upgrading the core Module::Build with a new CPAN release becomes slightly trickier.
