We won't be making jokes? Well that's no fun.
My point was that we're jumping through the wrong hoops to try to do the
right thing on behalf of the user. If the user really wants us
to "just make it easy to install stuff", setting their system to
default to using the well-supported installer is IMO the best way to
give them that.
If the user truly wants us to make it difficult for everyone involved,
well I guess I want a different user.
But getting a release out is more important that debating what
percentage of users would dislike having a wrong configuration
adjusted. I guess.
