Ken, Craig,
Somewhere the fix to have the Module::Build tests use the blead perl
under test instead of the production perl on VMS got lost from blead.
I think what you are saying is that the tests end up being run against
an installed Perl rather than the Perl being built when testing
Module::Build as part of a core build. Is that what you are saying?
The perl scripts spawned by the Module Build tests are using the
installed Perl instead of the Perl being built.
In [.lib.module.build.t]basic.t, test 24 fails with this message:
"Perl lib version (v5.8.6t) doesn't match executable version (v5.11.0)
at /perl_root/lib/Config.pm line 32."
A more specific pointer to "the fix" would be helpful.
I was hoping that this would be enough to spark your memory since you
put the fix in originally back before 5.10 was released.
Now I am a bit confused. I just ran the extutils/manifest.t tests and
now when I run the basic.t test for Module::Build, it is passing.
I did a google search, and I could not find where you submitted the patch.
