The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:
modid: Net::SecSH
DSLIP: RdpOp
description: Perl client interface to Secure Shell
userid: BTROTT (Benjamin Trott)
chapterid: 5 (Networking_Devices_IPC)
communities:
PerlMonks, private mail
similar:
Net::SSH::Perl
rationale:
I'm the author of Net::SSH::Perl on CPAN, and I want to move the
bulk of my code into the Net::SecSH namespace. Two reasons for this:
1) I've never liked having the implementation (ie., 'Perl' => 'pure
Perl implementation') as part of the distribution name.
2) It seems as if implementations of Secure Shell which are not
actually part of the trademarked SSH distribution should go by the
name of SecSH. At least this is what was proposed [1].
I still want to keep the Net::SSH::Perl namespace, but I will move
my code into the Net::SecSH namespace and make Net::SSH::Perl a
simple hook into Net::SecSH. Current users of Net::SSH::Perl will
not notice the difference, and new users can pick up Net::SecSH if
they wish.
