The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

  modid:       WWW::SpiTract
  DSLIP:       aupha
  description: WWW robot plus text analyzer
  userid:      XERN (Lin Yung-Chung)
  chapterid:   15 (World_Wide_Web_HTML_HTTP_CGI)
  communities:
    comp.lang.perl.modules

  similar:
    LWP HTML::TreeBuilder WWW::Search WWW::Robot

  rationale:

    Basically, WWW::SpiTract combines LWP and HTML::TreeBuilder
    together. Users can write descriptions for specific sites and this
    module can automatically fetch pages with some attributes in common
    and extract data as assigned. Users can also write callback
    functions to manipulate retrieved data. Metasearch engine, personal
    news center, or price comparison engine, for example, can be easily
    built upon this.

    WWW::Search is mainly designed for search engines, but
    WWW::SpiTract is more for general uses. WWW::Robot deals with links
    in a page, not for general purposes either.

    Tarball's been uploaded.

The resulting entry would be:

WWW::
::SpiTract aupha WWW robot plus text analyzer XERN
