The gnome canvas widget is a large and independent gtk2 widget. It
can be used with or without Gnome2. The reason why it's
Gnome2::Canvas and not Gtk2::Canvas is that there is no "gtk2 canvas
widget", since, historically, the canvas widget distribution was
part of the gnome2 libraries. Nowadays it is a seperate library
that's useful indendent of Gnome2.
