rationale:
Need to rationalize how Perl statistics modules handle their basic
data - no two modules use the same methods - neither by name nor
behaviour. So a "load" in one is an "add" in another but "add" can
mean something else in another module; so too for deleting,
updating, reading data. These type of routines should, ideally, be
separate from the calculation of statistics - let this module handle
the basic data, and other stats modules handle the calculations on
those data.
