why:
I've been coding perl for 29 years and even have the occasional
patch accepted?
Also, I've noticed (long since, but never had the round tuits) that
AnyEvent::Worker was abandoned over a decade ago, and had critical
bug fixes for it years ago that I need to re-write (left behind on
company servers, alas); I did submit a patch at some point in the
long past but since the package was abandoned, they were never
(naturally) accepted.
