why:
I work in cyber security and open-source maintenance and would like
to contribute security and maintenance work to CPAN. My immediate
planned contribution, subject to coordination with CPANSec, the
existing maintainer and the PAUSE administrators, is to help audit,
secure, deprecate and document migration away from the Image::WebP
distribution affected by CVE-2026-58586. I may also contribute
bounded maintenance and security fixes to other neglected CPAN
distributions over time.
