I wish this was changed so that if you disable scanning for trusted sources
that it did not ignore blacklist/whitelist entries. I would like it to skip
the SCA engine but not skip the sieve scripts (or else only look at the
blacklist/whitelist). We have been forced to scan all trusted sources so
that our users can blacklist each other.

Subject: [Modus] ModusMail 3.x antispam not working...

* This is the modus mailing list *

According to the modus3 manual:

Disable scanning for messages sent from trusted source

This is another new option in version 3.0. If you authenticate users via
SMTP Auth or POP/IMAP authentication and want to allow their outgoing mail
to the Internet to bypass spam filtering, enable this option. Mail will not
undergo scanning by either the SCA filter or your custom scripts.

Incoming mail from the Internet will be scanned according to your
configuration.

Please note that these users will still be subject to attachment and virus
scanning in the ModusMail versions that support these functions.

that worked Thanks!

Do you have "Disable scanning for messages sent from trusted source" checked
under Preferences in the Anti-Spam settings?

I'm working on upgrading from modus 2.x to 3.x.I'm currently testing it in
the lab. The problem is it doesn't seem to stop anything. I'm sending stuff
which I'm assuming should be blocked (no way to check the scripts anymore)
but it gets through. It's pretty much a default config and it's set to scan
all incoming mail and no overrides or whitelist entries. I also made a sieve
script which does work fine.

In the logs it says "*.msg was scanned for spam and non action taken." (I
wonder if that should say "NO" action taken ;-)

Anyway anyone have any ideas what I could be missing?

TIA

Steve
