Although I would tend to agree that people have to now their
capabilities, in this case it isn't necessarily entirely your fault.

You possibly should go through Satchmo documentation very carefully as
I recollect that they may have required funny tricks to get it to work
under mod_wsgi because of some of the odd stuff they do. So, is there
actually a mod_wsgi deployment page in Satchmo documentation?
