As it turns out, the only message that is suppressed in mod_wsgi 3.X
is 'client closed connection' and not 'failed to write data'.

Especially since you are using embedded mode, the reason you are
perhaps getting an aborted request as 'failed to write data' is that
the request is using SSL. In that circumstance rather than 'client
closed connection' could get the failed to write data instead.

Does your application receive HTTPS requests?
