If you use the --log-to-terminal option, do you see any error messages in the log output from your application?
What WSGI framework are you using? Have you configured it to ensure that it is sending error messages for failed request to the log? Have you used any developer tool as part of the browser to look at requests, if using an AJAX style web front end, to see if they are getting 500 responses?
