Cracked it!
After much fiddle-a**ing with the phone we eventually found a setting that needed to be altered. The phonebook now displays each time the car is started. Why can't things be simpler (I STILL prefer my old faithful state-of-the-ark dumb-phone!)

Hi Chaps
Has anyone successfully managed to get a contacts phonebook on a smartphone to display on a Ford Audio unit?
Sue has a Samsung Galaxy Fit smartphone, which hooks up via Bluetooth to the audio on the Fiesta OK - however the phonebook doesn't display. I've trawled the internet and so far I've:-
- Ensured the phone is on the Ford compatibility list (it is, but states the contacts must be stored on the phone)
- Downloaded & followed the instructions to the letter (AND I'm of the male species!)
- Copied the contacts from the SIM to the phone
- Looked at the software updates for the audio (the latest release notes say it's for cars built prior to December 2011. Ours is March 2012)
- Found that (in some cases) it can take a while to register (we've left the phone hooked-up for a long journey, and still doesn't register)
- Tried another Smartphone, with the same results
- Even gone back to the retailer to see if there's any setting on the phone I may have missed.
My good old faithful Samsung state-of-the-ark, far-from--smart slider phone has no problems, so I can use voice-dial and the display shows the caller details - neither of which work with the
Smartphone.
Any ideas??
Regards
Alan
