Hello Ron, I had a wrapping client in the past whi has 10 fitters working for them. They are now a two person business. Happy to put your son in touch if you send me details off group.
Main points are: 1) A very competitive market. Sub contractors have to live on around £195 £200 per day including expenses. By the time you allow for running a van and hiring scaffolding etc the maximum for a one man band is around £26-£28k before tax. 2) Available work is a function of the commercial vehicle industry. I have not seen recent figures for this. 3) Main contractors have favourite sub contractors - breaking in will take time. 4) To get referrals from the sign companies you have to be good - ideally with some accreditation from the vinyl firms. 5) When I last looked properly (around 2 years ago) there was an increase in demand caused by changes in vehicle marking requirements for contractors and emergency services vehicles working on motorway hard shoulders. Hope this helps. Kind Regards, Paul Paul Fileman +44 7969 188820 Sent from a wireless device.
