Reminds me of a canal boat holiday my old man took us all on about 35 years
ago, my 11th birthday was in the middle of it, we were on the Grand Union
heading into Stratford upon Avon. I spotted a very dead and very bloated dog
floating ahead. When you are 11 you have to try and burst it with the long
wooden pole with a hook at the end for catching ropes etc don´t you ? I still
remember that smell and the dressing down I got from Pater ! Mum wasn´t best
pleased either :)
best

We went along to Derbyshire's Kedleston Hall, a run organised by DonMog. A
really mixed bag of weather, and my SatNag being a tad below par, had the roof
on. Thankfully.

Just as we were close to Kedleston, I saw something in the road, but there was
not enough space to steer around it, and I hoped it would pass underneath the
car. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a rather dead badger, I heard the
squelching sound underneath the car, followed by the stench of all stenches.
Despite finding all the puddles on the way back, the stench is still there, but
am hopeful that the Yorkshire Group's run next weekend will include a few fords
to drive through.
